As Don Meredith used to say on Monday Night Football...turn out the lights, the party’s over. The curtain came down on the season at Tri-County on Nov 2. What a season it has been! Eight races ran to culminate the season.
Race #1 was the Super Cup Series. Qualifying landed Chrissy Wallace, #23, on the pole with a lap time of 16.546, 87.030 mph. The invert put Brian Harrison, #15, in the top spot to bring the field to green. Wallace, daughter of former Cup driver Mike Wallace, won the caution free event. Ben Ebeling, #44, was second. Mitchell Stapleton, #42, followed in third.
Next up was the Carolina Vintage Series. Pole speed for this race was recorded by Chris Werner, #19. His lap time was 16.368, 87.976 mph. One caution was displayed and that was on lap 13. Jonathan Fleming spun his #6 car in turn 1. Werner won the event. Bob Hapeman, #8, finished second and Fleming recovered to finish third.
The season finale for the Renegade Series was the third event. Klint Townsend was fast in qualifying with a time of 18.796, 76.612 mph. An invert relegated Townsend to a 5th place starting position. Two cautions were waved during the race. Both for Sherlyn Best, #67. Both incidents were in turn 2. One was on lap 10 and the other was on lap 12. Townsend won but was later disqualified in post-race tech. This not only cost him the race but also the championship. With the Townsend disqualification Ledbetter brought home the win and won the Renegades Championship. He was followed by Nathan Pate, #1, in second place. Jarrett Anderson, #26 brought home his best finish of the 2025 season in 3rd place.
The Front Wheel Drive Division was next on the track. James Powell, #27, had a fast time of 19.058, 75.558 mph. An invert of the top 6 placed Gary Willard, #54, on the pole. One caution slowed the race. Donny Holland got into the back of Randy Hupp, #54, on lap 21. A red flag had to be displayed to allow for cleanup of the accident and the track. A familiar face, in the form of Powell, returned to victory lane. Skylar Brown, #2, claimed second and was declared champion of the division. Justin Marler, #59, came home third.
Carolina Mini Stock took to the track as the fifth race of the night. Zack Franks, #1, set the pace in qualifying with a lap time of 17.659, 81.544 mph. Robert Trivette, #11, however, brought the field to green via an invert. Darrell Foster, #98, was the only caution on lap 5. He spun on the front stretch. Franks won the event and he was followed by Jamison Whittington, #61, in second. Trivette was third. Isaac Harris, #59, didn’t race on Saturday night. He had already wrapped up the championship previously for the 2025 season.
The Street Stock Division was race 6 on the cold night. Mike Hatton, #12, lead the field in qualifying with a time of 16.871, 85.353 mph. An invert of the top 5 placed Alan Rich, #03, as the man to bring the field to green. Two cautions waved on lap 37. The first was for Jonathan Goodwin, #05, when he spun on the front stretch. He also spun again on the restart but this time in turn 2. He was also joined by Tyler Chapman, #7, and Jacob Ritchie, #27. The race was red flagged to move Chapman’s and Ritchie’s cars which were up and over each other. It took both wreckers to clear the track. Terrence Tucker, #42, came home the winner. He was followed by Hatton in second and Rich in third.
The second leg of the 2 Super Cup races followed as race 7 of the night. The top 4 finishers from the first event were inverted for the start of this race. This put Austin Vaughn, #66, on the pole for this race. Chrissy Wallace, #23, quickly made her way back to the point. She won for the second time of the night in another caution free race. Mitchell Stapleton, #42, was second and Ben Ebeling, #44, was third.
The final race of the night and of the season was the Crown Vic Series. Shane Lisk, #13, won the pole award with a speed of 20.355, 70.744 mph. An invert of the top 5 allowed Michael Waldrop, #222, to start p1. The race was caution free and Hunter Hatton, #4, won the final race of the season. He was followed by Kyle Dubeau, #12, in second. Dubeau also won the season’s championship for the Crown Vic Series. Dominic Morlando, #013, came home third.
